Relying on others is generally a pretty poor idea when it comes to Pokemon, it's not only more time consuming than just breeding/catching/genning stuff yourself, but also comes with the attached risk of getting hacked garbage that might bite you in the ass in the most unexpected moment. Trading should be reserved for Pokemon which for some reason you cannot relibly obtain yourself.

With current IV mechanics getting such Pokemon is a matter of 30-50 resets at most. Before gen VI it was pretty much impossible outside of RNG abuse.
