Gen 1 was crazy with moves. I love these games for it. I'll list everything that I remember.
>Hyper Beam
No recharge if your opponent faints. Freaking sweep machine.
>All moves with high crit ratio (Crabhammer, Karate Chop, Razor Leaf, Slash)
IIRC formula goes like this:
Pokemon's base speed/64 * 100% = Pokemon's chance to crit.
These moves were critting all the damn time pretty much on most of the Pokemon.
>Trapping moves (Bind, Clamp, Fire Spin, Wrap)
If your opponent is faster and have one of these - pray for 15% chance to miss or else you are fucked and can't do shit.
>Multi-hit moves (too many to list them; I don't even remember them all)
If one crits - they all crit. Pretty funny.
Honourable mentions (these work pretty nicely to this day but are way worse):
>Amnesia
+2 to Special back then would be +2 SpAtk and +2 SpDef now. Crazy good.
>Minimize
Stomp had no bonus against Minimize users and Swift was the only attack which ignored evasiveness. Hard to deal with.
>Explosion
340 BP. Doesn't kill user if it breaks substitute. Top kek.
>Blizzard
90% accuracy in generation 1 (and apparently had 30% freeze chance instead of 10% in japanese games which is just insane).
Anyway, my favourite moves were the ones with high crit ratio. Especially Razor Leaf and Slash.
