Started playing Emerald because I was bored (ROM on my phone) and picked Treeko because I picked Torchic back in the day so might aswell mix it up...holy shit does this guy have a use at all? I'm just going to compare him to Torchic.

First Gym:

Combusken: Doublekick 30BP (Hits twice so pretty much 60BP)

Second Gym:
>Grovyle: Bullet seed or absorb LOL
Combusken: Super effective peck

Third Gym: (And everyone in the Area)
>Grovyle: All your shit is resisted LOL (rocktomb ???)
Combusken: Power through it Doublekick on steels and neutral ember on electrics

Fourth Gym:
>REKT (rocktomb???)
Based double kick

Fifth Gym:
>still nothing good
Based double kick

Sixth Gym:
>REKT
At least it has use vs Skarmory and Tropius

Seventh Gym:
>Alright it's useful for 3/4ths of the battle (rocktomb????)
Based sky uppercut and Blaze kick destroys everything

Eighth Gym:
>time to shine
>still lack luster
Based Sky uppercut getting a few KO's
