>"Another step towards victory!" May said, excitedly.
May had just beaten Duchess Drasna at the Battle Chateau. She was on a roll, and there was just one more step towards being the total champion of the chateau: Grand Duchess Diantha. She had some really powerful Pokémon, but May wasn't worried. The Pokémon Diantha had were swift and very hard to hit, but that's what May had been focusing on in training! She herself was known for her graceful and elegant appearance and movements, and had trained even her largest Pokémon to follow that. That training has clearly not been in vain.
Once May encountered Diantha, Diantha noted how gracefully May had ran towards her. She was intrigued to see who could make it all the way up here, and her movements were certainly familiar!
"Oh my!" she said, "I never thought I would meet you here! Honestly, I didn't! Oh, but--silly me--I should at least do these things right… As Champion and as Grand Duchess of the Battle Chateau, I, Diantha, challenge you."
May certainly felt like she was being challenged, and sent out her first Pokémon. "Go, Venusaur!"
Diantha simply smiled and sent out her first Pokémon. "Go, Hawlucha!"
May certainly put up a good fight, let me tell you, but eventually, we got to their final two Pokémon. May had sent out Blastoise and Diantha had sent out Gardevoir, and both Pokémon were Mega Evolved. They fiercely fought, and Diantha admired how swiftly May had taught Blastoise to dodge. But just when it looked like Gardevoir was finished, Diantha commanded the finishing blow.
"Gardevoir, use Moonblast!" Before Blastoise could react, a moon was dropped on him, removing what little energy he had been saving!
"Blastoise!" May shouted. She got down on her knees and covered her eyes. She wasn't crying, she was just upset to have come this far and barely fail on the last trainer.
