I'm definitely voting ban on this thing. The 2-1 deal is bogus when you get far enough on the ladder and have to face just as good/better players though. So I might wait a bit for the ladder to get populated and then get a lot of my wins on the low ladder.

I've been saying from XY that Lando-I was cancer but due to the abundance of Lando-T, it hadn't really gotten enough attention to its ferocity. The idea that it has the potential to beat any mon barring Cresselia and Mega Latias is pretty scary. And even apart from that, every team has to account for it or risk getting swept, which is pretty centralizing. Expert players know how to wield it, with Stealth Rock support and a Raikou, T-tar, etc in the back to pressure things like the Mandibuzz and Latis which dare stand up to it. It just demands way too much to handle this one Pokemon.

You want megagross to be even more centralising? You want stall to be more rampant?
Lando-I is threatening, yes, but it somehow lacks enough power to make big holes in a prepared opponent's team. SpD Rotom-W counters every single set possible (except CM, which is uncommon) and Latias does not get OHKO'd by knock off and can force a switch or KO back. 101 speed, believe it or not, is extremely lacklustre now, with only stall mons (mew) or bulkly mobs being outsped. Any good offensive mon now falls in the 110 speed tier, and basically slaps Landorous-I to hell.

It is by no means centralizing, and instead keeps many otherwise overpowered mons back. I'm mid 1650 on OU and don't see a need to carry a specific check to it
And please, we need a solid check to stall and fairies

Landorus needs to go, its one viable counter gets easily taken care of by a certain sand monster with a taste for scarves, and it severely hinders the viability of defensive teams, hence the garbage offense-filled meta we have today.

FB is 70, not 80. And Pain Split is one of the big proponents of its usage, so of course people know how to play against it. As long as Rotom-W doesn't get back to full, it just makes Lando's hits more likely to kill/2HKO each time R-W comes back in.

"Checks and Counters

Counters: Specific specially bulky Pokemon such as Cresselia, Mega Latias, and Gyarados completely counter Landorus, as they can sponge up its attacks and cripple it with a status condition or hit it hard with an attack.

General Checks: Pokemon such as Bronzong, Slowking, Goodra, and specially defensive Mega Sableye (Calm Mind, Knock Off, and Metal Burst variants) are solid checks to Landorus. However, Goodra is only a shaky check to Knock Off variants due to the fact that Knock Off + Earth Power combined with Stealth Rock damage has a high chance of KOing Goodra."

The reason it's banned is because we all know how the meta is like with Lando in it, and to make a fair assessment on whether the meta is better without it, we should see how a Lando-free meta is.

To your other points, 'mons like Latias absolutely hate U-Turn -> Scarftar; Lando-I's "killer set" uses Rock Polish so offense is fucked if it gets a free turn; and it's definitely strong enough to carve out new orifices in an opponent's team on its own. Hydreigon manages to be a fantastic wallbreaker with no hard counters not named AV Azumarill, and it can't match the damage output of two of Lando-I's LO SF STAB Erf Powahs.

And literally none of the scenarios require a max roll from Landorus-I, all you need is SR and a solid dose of not missing Focus Blast or getting a MINIMUM roll.

Only if you PLAY stall. Offence will just check lando with their own offensive pokemon, scarfers, lures, priority etc. and win or lose against Lando-I based on the actual plays they make and not simply the pokemon they bring. Lando only forces you to pick a pokemon from it's shallow pool of hard counters if you run a defensive team, which are the epitome of cancer killing the ladder. Both offence and balance can deal with Lando via offensive checks and good plays.

Yeah to get anything into Lando you HAVE to sac a pokemon. It's not like all 3 of its most common moves have straight up inmunities.

Dark-types looking to sponge a Psychic hate Focus Blast, Flying-types expecting an Earth Power can get chunked by Rock Slide, Steel-types sniffing out a Sludge Wave get popped by Earth Power or Focus Blast, Ghosts looking to get in on a Focus Blast absolutely hate Knock Off. And it could always either U-Turn out or set up a Rock Polish against frailer or heavily weakened teams.

Yeah, it's almost like it's one of the fundamental concepts pokemon is built around with its rock paper scissors style weakness and resistance system.

Your whole argument seems to be that you just outpredict it. That can work against a stupid player, but we were never talking about playing stupid players. Your opponent will be making plays just as you do. And keep in mind, you're doing all these gymnastics to not get smacked by just the Lando-I, when the opponent will have 5 other mons that aren't just doing nothing. Sometimes Lando-I gets support, sometimes it's a spare sweeper to a bigger threat, sometimes there's a smaller but still significant threat to it, etc.

The most common core is Lando-I, Tyranitar, and Raikou. Raikou deals with things like Mandibuzz or scaring out Keldeo, and Tyranitar deals with the bulky Psychics. And then there's still the Mega and likely a wall/cleric and another pivot to keep Volt-Turning back into Lando or the Mega.

I'd argue that Volt-Turn and Pursuit are equally bad for the game too but they're not prominent enough to be seen as a large scale problem. I mean pursuit trapping's only counterplay is "don't be on the field at the same time as the trapper" and U-turn let's you have priority zero switches into pokemon that have already gone and you know hat you're switching into. The three of them together seem worse for the game than any particular pokemon could ever be.

Thing is, there aren't that many prominent Volt-Turners that are also super-powerful attackers that can only be countered with Pursuit-bait.
And there's assloads of Psychic-types in OU anyway; it's easily one of the most balanced types in the game right now.

Besides, Technician only boosts Ice Shard, while Tough Claws boosts everything else, including Knock Off. If you want stronger priority, Adaptability or Refrigerate are the way to go with Weavile.

That'd be great if Weavile actually learned Icicle Spear. Or if Pursuit kept the Technician bonus when used on a target that's switching out which is the only reason to use it in the first place, actually getting that Technician buff on Pursuit is proof that you fucked up somewhere and should've used Knock Off. Besides, it's Weavile. It has 125 base Speed. It doesn't need Priority, that's just icing.

Weavile's speed, combined with the fact it has stab on pursuit means it's doing significant damage to pokemon that even stay in on the pursuit, allowing you to effectively trap shit even if it's neutral to pursuit.

A Pokemon that stays in on Pursuit will ALWAYS take more damage from Knock Off. Even with Technician. If the foe stays in and survives your Pursuit, you will usually end up with a whacked Weavile. If the foe switches out and your Knock Off hits the switch-in, well, at least you've removed an item/confirmed a Mega. And you can still switch out on the next turn.

Besides, STAB TC/Adaptability Pursuit on a target that stays in has 80 BP, compared to the 90 BP you'd get with Technician. If the foe switches out, the former abilities still apply while Technician no longer procs. So Technician gains an extra 10 BP when you fuck up and loses 40 BP when you've predicted properly. This on top of losing power on every other move that isn't Ice Shard.

Gliscor shouldn't be there, seeing as it gets 2HKO'd by Ice Punch at worst. Garchomp is arguable since it actually punishes Lop for a non-Ice Punch move. Gyarados could be on the Metagross list as well. Mew can definitely go on the Metagross list. Tangrowth as well. Gourgeist probably as well, since Ice Punch doesn't 2HKO. That's an exaggerated difference.

GSI: switches in on any of its shit. True counter.
SSI/SI: Switches in on most sets. There are some things it can't.
NSI: can't switch in for shit but 1v1's it.
