I have a question dudes. Does hacking/hackers exist in smogon/showdown?

I just had a battle, and my opponents Bravest bird successfully wisped my Manectric. mega evolved the fucker, Thunderbolted his bravest bird and it only lost 40% HP. how the fuck? Burn doesn't drop SpAtt, so what the fuck is going on?

his set was: Brave Bird, Wisp and Roost from what I saw, so Ass Vest is out. what happened? was it a hack?

Then the only explanation is he Roosted on the turn you attacked him. The fact that he Wisped you supports this, since bulky Talonflame carries it and a T-Bolt on the Roost does 38 to 45 % which has the ~40% you mentioned.

He used Roost first, which nullified its Flying typing, halving the damage from Thunderbolt. You weren't paying attention, he didn't use Wisp the turn you tbolted. This is literally the only explanation, you fucked up son.
