Why would they be compelled to give Butterfree a Mega just because they gave one to Beedrill?

Conversely, Gallade got a Mega.

So Froslass, Milotic, Butterfree, the other starters, Golem and Machamp need to get megas as well

but since GF is so fucking unpredictable we may never know

Gardevoir and Mawile got theirs in XY whilst Gallade and Sableye got theirs immediately after in ORAS.

We can't be sure which counterparts of existing Pokemon with Megas will get them in the next game, but there's a fair chance we'll get some. Probably Machamp, Golem and Butterfree, given how big they are on Gen I nostalgia at the moment.

THey don't 'need' to get megas as well. It would be nice, but there's no rule stating that they have to. This reminds me of people saying the other kanto starters needed another mega because charizard got 2. They don't 'need' to do anything according to gamefreak.

That's true, but there are other Megas with more bulk than Beedrill and equal or better attacking stats. More effective longevity I guess yo ucould call it. My intention was to make Butterfree the bulky setup sweeper to Beedrill's glass cannon. How would you recommend I change it?
