ITT: Pokemon you wish showed up in more main game playthroughs or were catchable earlier

Pic related, Mankey/Primeape are literally only available in Yellow, Red, Gold and their remakes. What gives?

the only huge problem I had was waiting until Mt. Silver to get a Level 20 Larvitar back in Gen 2. By then the game's over and you never get to use the Johto pseudo-legend.

Thank god HGSS fixed that by putting the little guy in the Safari Zone.

That was a huge problem with gold and silver. A bunch of the new pokemon were walled off in kanto, where the wild pokemon are at such ridiculous low levels. Sure, you can catch a houndour... when your pokemon are level 40-something and it's level 17 and you're more than halfway through the game.
