It's Japanese logic. Bugs are related to superheroes in jap culture. They have a few bug themed superheroes and stuff like that, so they're regarded as hero-like. The same goes for martial artists. It's why they're both strong against dark types that are regarded as evil, and it's probably why bug and fighting resist each other.

maybe not more bug fighters, but we could get a fast bug+steel grasshopper to be the Kuuga like Heracross's Agito, or give them automatize so they can "Clock Up!" like Kabuto.

Several I still don't get as well: Dragon is SE against Dragon, Flying is SE against Fighting, Steel is NVE against water, Ice is NVE against Rock, and Poison is NVE against Bug
