There is literally no way to make mega wobbuffet significantly better than normal wobbuffet.
>increasing hp is impossible
>increasing defences actually reduces the damage counter and mirror coat will do
>literally no direct attacking moves so boosting attack is pointless
>the entire point of the whole pokemon is his ability

All you can do is dump all 100 points into speed for faster encores and Dbonds, and possibly give it a typing resistant or even neutral to dark and ghost (since ghost is immune to counter and dark is immune to mirror coat, plus psychic is weak to pursuit and U-turn which escapes shadow tag).

The big reason wob isn't viable in higher tiers anymore is because a lot of shit hits so goddamned hard that wob's whole gimmick is useless. Back in Gen 4, you could safely encore and then counter/mirror coat to kill something. Now if you encore an attacking move, you get 2hko'd. like +30 in both defenses and +40 speed would be solid.

But Wobbuffet's Niche has always been encoring walls into status moves to give its own sweeper teammates free set up turns. Rarely does Wobbuffet actually use counter or mirror coat to kill things.

Shadow Nightmare (works like shadow tag + drains 1/4 of target's HP each turn)

There, either you kill him in a predictable way (countered/mirror coated) or he kills you.
And it's pretty consistent for its theme. Design would look the same with an absolutely terrifying tail.

Maybe it needs to be Normal/Ghost for AG though.

Struggle recoil wasn't fixed and two Shadow Tag users couldn't switch out. This means that a battle between two Wobbuffet was unfinishable since Leftovers always fully healed the minimal recoil of their struggles.
