>>23469409>Gengar is OU forever because GF is afraid of making good ghosts fast.Aegislash is ubers though
>Dnite would not be OU without multiscale.>Gyara might have dropped but it's better than zam, who only barely droppedExactly. And these are mons that almost always received a buff every gen. So they are so far removed from their Gen 1 incarnation, which would clearly be considered shit in today's meta.
>conkeldurr to machampit still stings reading this to this day, but anyway, i'm almost over it
gigalith also has better stat spreads than golem, talonflame, on top of having gale wings has higher bst than unfezant, which has higher bst than staraptor, which has higher bst than pidgeot
vivillon has higher bst than butterfree, beedrill, beautifly and dustox
so yes, there is power creep happening, and some if it is in the form of minmaxing/better stat spreads or outright higher bst
the fact that GF added +10 bst to a lot of gen1-2 mons speaks volumes to that
i am not claiming stats are the sole reason for viability, but it is still a determining factor and there is observable powercreep in terms of stats, but people tend to downplay it, because there are old pokemon that are still viable (but because those old pokemon get buffs on newer gens)
