Out of the three girls I know who play Pokemon, all three use Banette and one uses Mega Banette. The one who uses Mega Banette likes it because she knows its bad though, she only uses "bad" pokemon.

OP here, I just noticed a lot of female artists like Banette.

My little sister also likes Banette, she was so happy when she captured one recently (she's 9 and just got into Pokémon).

I believe the cute mons are mostly universally loved by the girls, but as for the less common choices it's just personal taste.

i personally like mons like hydreigon and metagross and find them cute but then again i have been told i have a weird definition of cute

I like it because it's a spooky doll. I also like sableye and gothorita for similar reasons. They're not dolls, but they have the same kind of "spooky + cute" thing going on.
