I don't think mummy idea is good, there is no undead Pokémon type so far (and where undeads - zombies appeared in manga they were just controlled corpses)

Thus said I really hate mega evolutions, they're so shitty design wise it looks like something designed by a fan (especially Edgyzard X looks like something straight outta Deviantart), I think I was only dissapointed more by sinnoh evolutions of classical Pokémon
Ironically enough the famous PokeGods it ripped off looked way better for me

I've always loved this concept for Confagrigus.

I remember people toying with the idea that it could be a second user of King's Shield as well. Pharaoh's are kings, and coming in and out of the coffin pretty much screams for it.

Say what you will, I'd have been pleased with this design, so long as it was decently usable in battle. I'd suggest minmaxing to special, giving it access to Earth Power so you could run a special set with amazing coverage.

It's not a mummy.

It's a cursed sarcophagus covered in solid gold, with a "wrong" thing inside. Whether the thing is a mummy or not, it needs to manipulate things from inside the coffin, so it projects shadow arms. If you give it a body, the thing loses its "wrong" mystique and the arms have no purpose.

Related: Spiritomb is bound to the Odd Keystone as punishment. It would be just as weird if Spiritomb had a Mega Evolution where it grew arms and legs.

Yes sableye is based on an alien encounter as well, but doesn't give of the same alien feel or design to match with the flatwoods monster.
