With the hardware these games were created on, it was very disappointing to not see the world fleshed out at all. In other words there was literally nothing to explore. In XY, forests and caves were all short as fuck, and the routes were so damn simplistic. They should make the areas bigger, add and flesh out the dungeons more to give the player something worth exploring. It seemed like everything was just there for the plot.
In ORAS, most of the maps were copy and pasted into 3D graphics. They should've expanded more on the routes, caves, and forests.
2. No useless characters
Please, no more "friends" like the ones we had in XY. Holy shit, they were fucking useless. They only reason they're memorable because of how redundant they were, and how they accomplished nothing throughout the story. They were fucking annoying.

4. Better soundtracks.
In other words bring Go Ichinose the fuck back. XY's soundtrack was so fucking lazy most of the time and hardly any themes were memorable.
ORAS's soundtrack was even fucking worse, but they put Shota Kageyama, of all people, to direct the soundtrack for the game. Most of ORAS's music were just midis taken from the original RSE and had newer sounds a slapped on them. I don't know if I can name one theme in the soundtrack that wasn't just that and had some repetitive percussion beat shoved into. It was all just fucking lazy.
Also Zinnia's theme sounded like generic shit you'd find in any other modern JRPG game.
5. The graphics
Do I even need to fucking say? XY and ORAS look like shit for a 3DS game. The battle scenes are fucking nice, but everything else looks like utter trash. I honestly don't know if there's a game on the 3DS with worse graphics. The games barely manage to look better than Minecraft. It's not the late 90s anymore, why the fuck are there square tiles everywhere.
