If you do a personality quiz based on nature, you can only have 25 different starters max. Leaving room for all 18 starters, Pikachu, Eevee, and whatever random 5 they feel like throwing in

Something worthy of super. All 721, their forms and maybe even more pokemon specific items like in Explorer's. More mission types, and maybe a class system like "sweeper" or "wall" where the same pokemon can have an entirely different play style.

Hunger was a bit annoying at times, but it adds challenge so it should come back. I heard Team Skills sort of replaced IQ, but didn't have some of the more special skills at all

Bring back the personality test that determines your Pokemon, have more than 20 starting Pokemon to choose from.

Have all 721 Pokemon recruitable.

Make the story just as interesting as Explorers of Sky. Beautiful game.

It would also be nice to add some cosmetics to your character too. Hats, scarves, bows, etc.

The soundtrack renditions are awesome though.
And it's a massive spoiler if you watch it before playing the game. Ugh.
The animation is pretty cool.

No, with Grovyle so utterly dominating Dusknoir there's no reason for both requiring to go back. It was supposed to be a struggle!

Literally copy and paste gameplay from Sky with a few tweaks to balance and smoothen the battles (ex: make multi hit moves not so absurdly broken) and maybe some new stuff to play around. A good story and good characters too, obviously.

I'm just wondering. Was GTI even likable? I hated playing the demo so I never properly played it. I didn't like the choice of playable pokemon, the lack of not being able to recruit a lot of pokemon and the legendaries, and removing IQ and hunger. Was the story decent?

I know the PMD series always had edgy stories but it's quite likable to play through. Like it wasn't predictable at all and the characters had depth besides the companion. Did GTI have a good story? If not, then that's my hope. A good story.

I think they didn't have enough time to make an engine and fill the game with content and be sure it gets released in the whole world before XY announcement or something.
Now, they probably already polished the engine (uh, I guess Etrian Mystery Dungeon uses the same one) and just had to fill the game with content, which is what they did with the DS Mystery Dungeon games.
I'm not sure if they used that engine before Rescue Team, but even if they didn't, they probably had more time and what they were doing required less time than Gates to Infinity

Predictable and meh. The story in GtI was like if your baby sister was trying to be edgy, instead of a tweenage guy. Character development was the most predictable disappointment - the background npcs' were better than your teammates' development. I got GtI when it came out and I'm only at the last stretch of the game because it's a core to play.

Don't waste your time, just hope the new one's better.

2 and 3 are good because they fixed the health system. Story is decent but the art is very nice. 1 is alright but it's trash at times because of how bullshit the mechanics are. Instead of a meter each Pokemon has a certain amount of times you have to circle. If you let go or get hit you have to start from the beginning. You're going to hate Steelix if you didn't already.

Sky Peak has Sky Gifts, which you can send to guild members to get something in return, and the peak also has the best Secret Bazaars in the game. Find one there, spend your money on grab bags for vitamins, gummis, and joy seeds

Yes. The only reason you wouldn't give gummis to Spinda is if you held a pair of Lockon Specs and threw gummis through your party, doubling or tripling the iq gain, but less chance of getting stats.

Goggle Specs, but since you likely won't have them, Eyedrop Seeds. Yuo could also just step on every square in the floor

You have a pokemon with Acute Sniffer, it also counts buried items

Here, take a look at my expertly crafted guide on buried items. Ever stop in the middle of a hallway while running? This is why. Unless it's Zero Isle or a 7 Instruments dungeon, you seem to mainly get money from the walls

It basically makes traps a nonfactor for the leader. If your team has trap avoider, the only way a trap will be tripped is if you're dumb enough to step on a revealed one. I think Trap Buster is similar but can break revealed traps.

evaluate what team you want to use. Your team should be easier to level now that you have access to gummis and the cafe.
Use default colored bow when leveling, switching to friend item when you feel content with your strength.
Then look at the list of legends and possibly go for one, like Zapdos appears @ floor... 17 in Amp Plains I think. Gotta get the mysterious part for it though.

The cafe lets you recycle items for a shot at great items, like vitamins, Miracle Chests, and an IQ Booster. Also, gummis are on average FAR more effective in the cafe. Sky also has bonus dungeons and just generally more to do.

Or you can just get Joy/Golden Seeds and eat them with Nature Gifter. Joy seeds can be gotten from recycling/Sky Peak Bazaar, Golden Seeds are a rare get from Golden Chamber chests. 20 levels per Golden Seed, 5 for each member on the team

I don't know. Shaymin Village grab bags give Joy Seeds sometimes, and you get a lot of gummis there, too.
Another way to get good EXP is the Pokemon Trap method. Throw a bunch of sticks/rocks on the floor, trigger a Pokemon Trap, then use a room-hitting move to clear out all the Pokemon that spawn in.

If you are playing Sky, the Cafe will pull you in for Sky Peak after about 3 days, if you are playing Time or Darkness, a Mr. Mime will appear at the Crossroads.

You can't evolve until after you get Marine Resort from Manaphy and I think recruit Palkia is also a condition, I can't remember anymore.

Wasted money on explorers of darkness, didn't even make it a quarter the way through, now it just sits in my ds case in the bottom corner, never to be played again and it's worthless to any game store so no point in selling it.

Never played a more repetitive game, especially one that's random every damn time you go in a dungeon, too bad it's still all the fuckin same.
Hated it, rumble replaces it 10 fold.

With the lower PP and with the ability to strengthen your moves and your stats so that every hit is a 1hko, accuracy becomes the most important factor. Accuracy can't be improved except by moves or an item that lowers the enemy's evasion. Take the more accurate versions.

It depends on what game you're playing and what you value more. In Rescue Team moves have no base power, so moves like Bubble and Water Pulse are better than Hydro Pump because they're ranged and have more PP.

In Explorers, some moves are definitely stronger than others, but weak moves tend to still be more useful because they're not much weaker and have more PP to compensate.

Pokemon traps turn all items in the room into Pokemon.

You can throw a ton of iron thorns in the room to spawn a few dozen mons

you can use a linked move like anything+Discharge to get bonus exp

Everything was made weaker in Explorers. Basic attacks do 200 damage MAX, if you have the skill that makes you use 2 basic attacks in a turn. Even at capped attack, a 4x effective hit will deal hundreds less damage than it would in Rescue Team

Each Gummi corresponds to a different type. The degree to which IQ is boosted is dependent on how the Gummi's type relates to that of the Pokémon eating it.
It goes same type > super effective > neutral > not very effective > ineffective.
Dual-typed Pokémon generally have their IQ boosted at a greater rate because in Rescue Team the boosts are calculated individually for each type and added, while in Explorers the higher of the two boosts is applied.

If you're playing Rescue Team, my unfounded guess is that a Pokémon's described reaction to the Gummi is determined by how high the boost is. Since Spheal is dual typed, it will have its neutrally-effective boost doubled, giving it a boost which is high enough to trigger the 'this is a favourite' message. I don't think Pokémon have individual preferences.

Attacks generally seem to do more damage in Rescue Team also, to the point where you can 1shot even Kecleon with a default attack. Worst part of Rescue Team for me is you can't recruit more mons if your party is filled

Riolu is the most OP starter, mainly because of Focus Punch and the 2 main bosses are weak to Fighting. It's not uncommon to deal 500+ damage in one hit on them

Movewise, you have Brick Break and Focus Punch and that's just about it. Don't even bother with Jump Kick and Hi Jump Kick, the penalty for missing is far too great.
