The thing is, the jokes and humor around a fantastic/sci fi universe are based comparing the differences with our world and working around those differences (ridiculing them, using the fantasy mechanics in our universe, viceversa, etc).
That's humor for you.
What do you expect a Pokemon joke to be about?
On how the grass is green and the sky is blue on the Pokemon world?
And on how humans can talk with other humans?
Yeah, yeah. I know a great part of the jokes that could be made are already overused.
But what the fuck do you expect on a franchise that has been running for such a long time with such a high fame?
Of course the majority of the humor that comes from those retarded comicdoos that left the games in or after gen2 are shit.
They normally fail on the mechanics, ignore fresh content and the new "universe differences" of recent games, and just spout an overused phrase with no context.
It's shit alright.
But the fact that it's overused doesn't mean it can't be used correctly, in a right context, and delivered properly to be actually funny without just copy-pasting "super effective" on the last panel.
My point is, people that make these lists on these threads are basically claiming that all possible Pokemon humor (or humor in general) will always be shit.
If you eliminate the tools used for creating the joke itself, might as well don't make jokes at all, because you'll have nothing to which base the humor around.
