meanwhile hoenn has 3 (vulpix, torkoal and numel) and d/p sinnoh only have one (rapidash).
dark types are also meh in pre-kanto g/s/c: you have sneasel and umbreon and that's about it. meanwhile hoenn has a lot more (7 to be exact) and d/p have 5.
still, for a generation that introduced them, i don't think this is a huge flaw. afterall, the point was to show how rare they were, and also to stimulate catching and exploring in kanto.
imo, d/p is far worse. thank god for the platinum dex.
