Ok nerds help me out, how do I stop over predicting? I always try to make plays 2/3 steps ahead and it backfires, like this in my last battle:

You get fucked by really powerful special attackers, especially Landorus, Thundurus, Gengar and Kyurem-B

Scizor is a nice blanket check to them, but it just stacks weaknesses and makes you crazy weak to stuff like ZardX.

He predicted your prediction is all.... , at some point you'll start to be able to scout your opponent's skill level early game. Usually a lot of the time, in high level play,what i do is make no impressive plays the first 4 or 5 turns unless match-up means i have to make doubles to gain momentum immediately. This way you get to see how your opponent thinks first and then modify your play as the match or series goes on.

Last spot open. I need something to take care of Gliscor and something special in general. Preferably something with Water/Ice coverage. Adding in some Grass could also be useful.
I'm open to change out some other team members, but I really want to use Skarmory and Heracross.

Mega Altaria is Feraligatr's perfect teammate. Mega Altaria easily tanks the Electric- and Grass-type moves aimed at Feraligatr while luring in and KOing some of Feraligatr's checks, including Tentacruel, Ferrothorn, Slowbro, and Skarmory. In return, Feraligatr takes on the Ice- and Steel-type attacks that Mega Altaria cannot survive. Dedicated wallbreakers such as Mega Gardevoir can wear down bulky Pokemon, paving the way for Feraligatr to come into the battle and clean up. Entry hazard support from Dragon-types such as Garchomp and Dragalge can inflict passive damage on foes to allow Feraligatr to finish them off. Dragon-types also have great synergy with Feraligatr; Feraligatr can take Ice-type attacks while Dragon-types can take Grass- and Electric-type moves. Dragonite is another great Dragon-type partner that can use Extreme Speed to deal with opposing priority users, while Mega Charizard X forms a great dual Dragon Dance core with Feraligatr due to each one beating the other's counters.

Mega Venusaur and Ferrothorn are great switch-ins to Azumarill, which is one of Feraligatr's biggest counters. Electric-types such as Raikou, Mega Manectric, and Thundurus can hit the bulky Water-types that Feraligatr struggles against for massive damage. Grass-types such as Serperior and Mega Sceptile can take the Electric- and Grass-type attacks aimed at Feraligatr; in particular, both Serperior and Mega Sceptile can easily beat Rotom-W. In return, Feraligatr can take on the Fire-types that force Grass-types out. Bisharp can lure in Keldeo and hit it with Knock Off as it switches in, allowing Feraligatr to set up on Keldeo. Bisharp also lures in Ground-types that Feraligatr can force out.

Isn't that inefficient since you're required to set up while with birdspam you just force Rotom to eat repeated CB bravebirds from reckless staraptor to the face all while taking hazard damage and he has no recovery besides lefties and painsplit?

Right, so I followed this advice and knocked up a team.

DD Gatr
DD Cotton Guard Mega Altaria
Ferrothorn
Serperior
Standard Bisharp
Choice Band Dragonite

I understand it has its problems though. For one, half the team is weak to fire, though the other half does resist.

Another thing is that I have 2 mons weak to stealth rock (one of which is only temporary) with no defog or rapid spin support.

Another thing is that the team is pretty vulnerable to status, particularly t wave. I gave my Gatr a Lum berry to compensate, and I can always hold off on evolving my Altaria to keep Natural Cure.

I was contemplating making Dragonite DD with lum berry, but then I'd have 3 of them, and without rapid spin or defog I'd risk losing Multiscale.

One thing I did realise is that my team isn't the fastest, so I gave t wave and glare to Ferrothorn and Serp.

Any pointers for a potential reshuffle? I'm not really sure who's expendable. Dragonite, right?

Don't give Gatr a Lum, it makes it so much weaker

I'd say drop Dragonite and use a Lati for Defog. But either way, other Altarias w/ Fire Blast and Mega Gardevoir eat this team alive, so I could also recommend Specially Defensive Skarmory as your Defogger, I know it doesn't really fit on your kind of team, but it's a solid answer for offensive fairies

Victini and Pursuit Mega Aero is a good start

Pursuit Aero is probably your best offensive hard check to Victini, but I don't play UU so idk what else to run

The idea of using a steel + a levitating/flying dragon isn't really something groundbreaking, that's been a thing since gen 3 pretty much because of the ridiculous type synergy they have, so yes, using them in a core is good because you can easily switch around between them to throw out damage. Pretty clear that you need some hazard control in there.
