>>23501557There are many more romhacks that are openly shitty, and when it comes to a random person making a crappy game, it's usually a romhack. Essentials is somewhat more complex.
Romhacking is limited to gen 3, and Essentials is slow. Pick your poison. Unless you want to make your own game engine or go off and port Essentials to one of the later RPG Makers or even translate and use Wolf RPG Editor, there's not a lot of choices.
