Hey /vp/!

Because of nostalgia I played Pokemon Gold again on my mobile. It was all fun and games but.....it was really easy. I know it´s a kids game but I never had any troubles during the game.

I´m not really a Pokemon fan and this is actually the first time for me visting this board at all but what Game of the whole series is the hardest? In which game of the series is it necesarry to plan things etc.?

I only played Red/Blue/Yellow and Gold/Silver so I really don´t have any idea.

None of the games are hard for an adult really. The way many people aroung here play it is to add some sort of artificial difficulty, such as Nuzlocke rules. Quoth Bulbapedia:
* Any Pokémon that faints is considered dead, and must be released or put in the Pokémon Storage System permanently.
* The player may only catch the first Pokémon encountered in each area, and none else. If the first Pokémon encountered faints or flees, there are no second chances. If the first encounter in the area is a Double Battle in dark grass, the player may choose which of the two Pokémon they would like to catch.
* Players should nickname all of their Pokémon, for the sake of forming stronger emotional bonds.
* A black out/white out is considered to be "game over", even if there are Pokémon left in the PC.
* The player should only use Pokémon they have captured themselves, meaning traded Pokémon, mystery gifts, etc., are prohibited, with the possible exception of Pokémon you receive as gifts from NPCs.

Figure out what you think would be the most fun.

Gen 4 games are the hardest, OP. Since you played Gold and Silver already, try Platinum.

No Pokemon game is hard outside of post-game areas. A lot of them do have parts that will catch you off-guard if you're not prepared for them, though. (the psychic gym in Emerald will probably kick your ass the first time you get to it)

I always thought getting to/ dealing with the sevii islands and unlocking cerulean cave on fire red and leaf green added a nice little bonus difficulty. Granted I was a bit younger when those games came out, but Imo those things alone make them more difficult than the other main games.

And unlike gen v and onward NO ONE IS YOUR FRIEND, NO ONE HEALS YOUR POKEMON FOR YOU. Caves are long as shit and you have to work to get legendaries and HMs.
