>>23512813It isn't bait, that's my real opinion. I know it's hard to believe your opinion could be not objectively correct but that's how it is. Let me elaborate for you on why I think D/P is the worst.
D/P's battles are notoriously slow. The overworld runs at a shit framerate. The graphics are pretty ugly, being GF's first shot in the dark at 3D. A lot of the sprites, especially for Hoenn mons, are pretty bad.
The game is babby-tier easy until you reach the champion, at which point the game fucks you over. This isn't an acceptable difficulty curve, though at least it's better than Gen II/HGSS Kanto.
The dex was packed with a shitton of legendaries, half of which were totally pointless. You can't honestly commend the gen that gave us Phione for having a good dex. Many of the new Pokemon were just evolutions for older Pokemon that weren't available until postgame. Furthermore, with over 400 Pokemon available at that point, the only Fire-type line catchable in Sinnoh was Ponyta. The fucking fire-type gym leader only had 2/5 fire type Pokemon. Sinnoh had shit variety, regardless of what you think of the Gen 4 Pokemon designs.
The music is a matter of opinion but personally, the sluggish, disjointed night music combined with laggy-ass battles bored me to tears. Some tracks are good but not enough to salvage the OST, let alone put it above other gens.
Overall D/P are mediocre games that basically served as a stepping stone for GF into the realm of 3D. Their later games for the DS are superior in every way. There's no reason to play D/P except to say you did, really. They're the worst in the series, and in retrospect they only really existed as practice for Game Freak, a game in which they did tons of shit wrong so they learned what to do right later.
