>>23522975>In the real world there would be no stall or balance, just strong and fast predators and a bunch of weak or fat animalsThat's a pretty poor point. Pokemon competitive battling is a far cry from real world animal encounters. The idea that it's turn-based and that status moves exist should be enough to get away from that line of thinking, among other things...
But anyway, I think the term you're looking for is stallbreaker/wallbreaker. I think there are fair stallbreakers and unfair stallbreakers. Things like Mew or Serperior or Manaphy seem fair, because they are harmless or are limited in maneuvers or require setup. Things like Mega Medicham and Mega Heracross are also fair because they take up a Mega Slot, aren't that fast, and can still be walled.
On the contrary, things like Kyurem-B, Landorus-I, Mega Gardevoir, and Mega Charizard Y are problematic because of the wide or strong enough coverage they have. The former 2 are big deals seeing as they don't even take up a Mega slot. Lando-I is to be taken the most seriously since it has access to the tools to beat or outspeed most of the things that can stop it, like Calm Mind and Rock Polish.
And for this Rock Polish reason, re:
>>23522917Lando-I can threaten hyper offense too. Naturally, it depends on the coverage, but a Lando player would weaken the things it's not fully prepared for, like Keldeo when it doesn't pack Psychic. Big unrestricted hitters are dangerous to the meta. It's like facing something out of Ubers, where these guys belong.
