This would make sense if their suspect process didn't alienate a lot of good battlers and make it easier for a lot of mediocre players with lots of free time to get reqs. You can be the best battle in the world, if you don't have enough time to mindlessly slog out 85 battles in two weeks you can't vote.

This was before the stupid assholes made it even harder by maintaining the 2700 COIL requirement but also requiring that you achieve it in <85 battles.

It's a joke of a process and when you make valid criticisms they're ignored or never addressed.

Isn't the whole point of competitive Pokemon to use whatever works? If a silly mon (and they're all silly, let's not kid ourselves) using an unconventional set wins battles, shouldn't Smogon eat that shit up?

I don't think you realize how many battles you have to play if you have somewhat decent of a GXE like 75. It's over 100. That is absolutely an unreasonable amount of time to devote to pokemon, just to cast one vote that gives you a tiny chance of even affecting the outcome of the suspect.

You know, it is possible to have a theoretical knowledge of something while being shit at the practical.

Not saying I agree or disagree with you, but there is a difference between knowing how something SHOULD be done and then just completely failing to predict when the chips are down.

I have been around the competitive league of legends scene for a long time, and how /vp/ reacts to bans is just how people react to nerfs in LoL. Yeah in the lowest level of play it doesn't really matter, but at the highest level of play it does matter. Just because it is balanced in low level play because no one has the skill required to actually use it properly doesn't me it is not broken.

You are sort of right though there are exceptions in LoL where shit rank people are the most knowledgeable and some top tier players are dumb as fuck. But that is only because LoL requires Knowledge and Mechanics while Pokemon only require knowledge.
