But yeah, it's a problem. Hits way too hard for its own good. Plus, the Suspect Test ladder is a lot nicer than OU, thanks to its absence. Closest thing to it in the ST is maybe Manaphy, which takes a turn to set up its SpAtk and can't boost its speed.

That was a pretty poor battle, but talking about your skills specifically you seem to know what you're doing. Good stuff on the D-nite Outrage and the Ava Crunch.

However, you got lucky on the turn Gengar got the Wish and Bronzong was para'd. Try using an Eeveelution with Baton Pass as your Wish passer. I've found Wish Pass Vaporeon + Heal Bell Clefable + Tornadus-T to be a good control core.

I intend to breed and raise it legally and kinda want to plan in advance. My main focus would be casual wifi battling, which may include doubles.

After some testing on Showdown, I found the following problems:

>I lack a way of clearing entry hazards and have no hazards of my own
>Metagross is usually to slow for its own good, which makes it extremely problematic unless I get lucky.
>Milotic seems kinda useless, she's hardly the tank she used to be back in RSE.
>Lum berry on Volcarona doesn't seem the best choice available.

I've considered shifting my mega from Venusaur to Metagross -which would mean I need a Jolly Metagross instead- and getting a defensive Ferrothorn to lay down hazards. Skarmory also seems a nice possibility. As for Milotic, I am considering Greninja, but that would probably make my team way to frail.

Meta mega is perfectly fine with running 252/252+, base 110 is excellent. Btw grass knot is dumb on cb meta, it doesn't get the tough claws boost, you might as well run like thunderpunch. If you are lacking speed you could try life orb meta with rock polish.
Volc without hazard removal is kinda problematic unless you play vgc (run a bulky spread with rage powder in that case), you could fit a starmie on there, better support especially since you dislike milotic anyways. Otherwise a defogger should do the job. When using volcarona you should really dedicate your build around it, it needs alot of support to get the issue done, get a reliable way to pound on heatrans and talonflames, play your hazards offensively, pressure them to switch in, or use some sort of lure, you get the deal.
Mega venu seems kinda out of place on there, i mean fwg core is nice and well, but i'd rather focus on the offensive side when using volc.

Wouldn't worry too much about phazing as a whole, the most common phasers are Suicune/Blastoise which you can deal with via CB Victini or Ampharos (LO Hydrei dents them as well if you decide to keep it over scarf), and Mega Aggron which doesn't want to take a hit from your attackers and generally runs Dragon Tail anyways.

Use the modifiers and set both def and sdeg to +1.
Set the EV bias towards the role it fills on your team (defensive, special defensive or mixed wall) and use a damage calculator with "one vs all" and see which 2hkos it turns to 3hkos with that spread, adjust it if need be etc.

I can see that my set needs work:

Item: Eviolite
Ability: Download
EVs: 68 HP / 220 Def / 220 SpD

- Foul Play
- Icebeam
- Rest or recover? Toxic frustrates me.
- Discharge

Discharge has a decent para rate and with the speed decrease, Analytic is the last thing i want, so I'm keen to keep Download.
But, it doesn't work well alongside foul play, since the +1 attack boost doesn't even come into play. I do appreciate the +1 SpA though alongside the icebeam and discharge.

Could someone advise me on whether to switch foul play out for a diff physical move, or keep it and switch abilities? I really don't want to have a dead end if I come up against a special wall.

Use Trace. Trace let's you check chandelure, check intimidate mence and krook, you can more easily switch into Mamo lacking knock off, it's just generally helpful.

Non-stab foul play isn't outstanding even against powerful physical attackers, and 3 attacks+ recover duck isn't fantastic either. I'd have to see the rest of the team, but either toxic or thunder wave would be preffered in most cases. Sheer force thunderbolt fucks up feraligatr but you'll need to run a lot of defence EVs to tank boosted waterfall, no need for foul play there, and a lot of physical attackers that Pory checks are dealt with one of its two special moves. Mence, krook, aero, and Sharpedo are messed up by either tbolt or ice beam, and toxic is better against mamo and rotom than foul play is.

The only thing I could think foul play helps with is Lum berry boosting sweepers like SD Haxorus, who can tank an attack while abusing their one time immunity to status to boost.

You could try Trace with that set if you don't want Analytic. Otherwise, Toxic seems like a good option over Foul Play, they both do the job of deterring set-up sweepers.

Also, you might want to fix that EV spread; It's almost always more efficient to invest in HP before a defense. I came up with a spread quickly, it has almost identical physical bulk with better special bulk (assuming the previous spread was running Calm)

You want calm. Pory2 actually has an okay speed for a wall that can outspeed other walls and bulky attackers, and calm reduces your attack lowering foul play (incoming) and confusion damage.

Your opponent was incompetent for running two overlapping clerics, a Forretress without Volt Switch, and a Rest Mega Chomp, so the game was already kinda doomed for him. You played ideally each turn, and the Heatran very well exploited his vulnerabilities.

I usually run Leftovers on my Volcorona, and make him bulky so he can soak up a hit while sweeping or setting up with Quiver dance

Fire Blast can miss and doesn't have the boosting effect that Fiery Dance does.
Good team though, needs polishing and you have a solid set .

Just adding on to this, you need 120 SpD and Calm to take on Rain Dance Manaphy. Some Clefable already run 96+ SpD to take on Thundurus anyways so it's not a huge loss.
