>>23541905gastly has a spooky smile, perfect for what it's trying to transmit
luvdisc doesn't have much of a face at all
shuppet is a discarded toy, looks perfect for it
geodude is terrible, just as bad as the vanilluxe line, i did add graveler, might need to edit it to put geodude there too
ditto is supposed to have a clear simple face because it's a very simple pokemon. it copies the opponent, but doesn't have much itself. that's the whole shtick.
char as in character, pic related, it's boring
uh wut. it's a lot of objects together. they could've turned a particular waste of food, like an apple, into a foot, for instance, instead we just get boring brown stuff.
i do. but anyway, it actually tastes sweet according to the game. and there's zero concept involved.
read again. i never said that the point isn't that they look like vanilluxe. the point is that they're just as boring as it vanilluxe. and no, they both look terrible and leave the line completely unfinished.
the point isn't that they're DEEP AS FUCK, the point is that they usually have something else besides it. like how pikachu is from a legend of a thunder mouse, etc. there is, unfortunately, no concept involved in the vanillluxe line other than "ice type with multiple heads" as it was confirmed by james turner himself.
mr mime is a creepy woodland elf (hence the fairy and psychic typing) BESIDES just being a mime. it takes the concept of mime and adds much more too it, suggests clowns and other jesters, but also with a mystical creepy twist. it's horrible, but then again that's what it is trying to transmit.
dunsparce takes the myth and turns it into a monster. however, much like most japanese folk creatures, there is no consensus as to how it looks like. hence, just like with golduck and mr. mime, they grab lots of influences, drawings and even original interpretations as to how they look like. tsuchinoko's don't fly, for instance.
also, not my post, but there is nothing really wrong with skymin.
