Because Mega evolutions are now are thing, does that mean we will no longer get evolutions of pokemon from past generations in future games other than Eevee? If so, how do you feel about that?

What makes you say that? A bunch of shitmons got Megas in the last batch of them. I do agree with you about them being reserved exclusively for shitmons, but they are still getting them at least.

Not saying they won't happen anymore but there's less and less reason to do them each gen, and I think 6 was the nail in the coffin.

I saw a couple in UU who did pretty well because I didn't expect wish/calm mind draining kiss spam. I also saw two or three in monotype normal because it's the only mega they have that isn't weak to fighting.

I wish they'd stop giving them to mons that are already good for a while. Also, don't give megas to mons that aren't yet 3 stage unless the highest current stage isn't shit e.g. Scizor. Some exceptions obviously but they'd need to minmax to Mawile or Beedrill levels. I think of it like this:

>If a Pokémon is a third stage evo: mega
>Else if a Pokémon has BST > 500: mega
>Else if a Pokémon has little evolutionary potential: mega
>Else: evo

Examples:
>Arcanine: mega (rule 2, 3)
>Sunflora: evo
>Jynx: evo
>Magmortar: mega (rule 1, 2, 3)
>Slowking: mega (rule 3, also Slowbro)

I think Hydreigon is going to get a Mega next game. It's based off Yamata-no-Orochi, a nine-headed snake. It only has three heads. But if you look at its wing appendages, it has six of those. So I think a mega will have them all turn into heads. I think he was designed with Mega Evolution in mind.

It's not something they do often in general, and when they do it's usually completely worthless shitmons like Sneasel and Gligar and Porygon, Porygon2, Yanma, etc. If it's not a worthless shitmon, then it's an alternate evo which megas are obviously not doing shit to even in theory. I imagine we'll see more of the former, regardless, megas alone aren't enough to even pretend to save some things.

In fact, I can even see Porygon 2 getting a mega more likely than Porygon Z due to how the line works - The evolutions are more akin to permanent form changes as they are just getting patches. Z is an imperfect patch that introduces glitches. I could see Silph Co. creating a virtual megastone to mod Porygon 2 with and get people to stop using the unofficial Dubious Disc upgrade, lore wise
