I played the demo like a year ago and I was just so amazed... I've never been more hyped about something ever since. But it seems like the project is dead.

Why ? It was so awesome..

A group decided developing a game trough 4Chan was too in inefficient. Most of the thread consisted of shitposting and a member was threatend.

The original devs are working on it, they just don't want anyone else to be able to watch or contribute anymore. And knowing them, they're probably still not making any progress.

Honestly, I wouldn't hold my breath. The development was incredibly slow even for an amateur pokémon fangame, due to all the divas in the group and the fact that it takes at least a month for them to vote on every thing, and then they declare the result invalid if it's not what the main tripfags wanted. So it does make sense to remove the voting all together, since it was just a charade from the very beginning.

Actually 1.3 is pretty much done.
Just implementation and fixing bugs now.
But we still haven't decided if we're going to post it outside or not.

Most wiki people that make even just comments get replies. Several people on the wiki doing things have been brought into the loop since the departure. The forums are actively monitored and yes, that involves listening. One of the primary purposes of having the update threads at all was to get feedback. Nobody wanted to give it though.

Haha nope, it's right on course or even a little fast for a fangame/romhack. The higher quality ones typically take at least two years to get to a promising demo. Take Uranium for example. Started in something like 2008, got a reboot in 2010, 3.0 released in 2013 and 4.0 released around 5 months ago. Sure, you can say Sage is slow for the amount of people it has, but more people don't necessarily mean faster production.
