I don't even know anymore. Mauville was the only city they changed, all so they could have their Lumiose analog to match the gen. Why didn't they change anything else? As it is, it's a relic from the original third gen where they still wanted the League location to have an identity of it's own, but that idea has been abandoned, and thus, all Leagues are just...well, the League. Since Ever Grande was this anyway, they kept it. They could've just retconned it and just called it the Pokemon League like everywhere else, but being true to the original was apparently high priority with this, including having Minecraft style terrain. Just no. No more. The powers that be are idiots and there's nothing we can do about it.
