>>23585414I think it's because some people think Cheren has a lackluster team in-game. I mean, it's his starter, the first route bird, elemental monkey, and early route cat. His team isn't much better than Bianca's in BW1 other than him using held items.
Also holy shit I never noticed you fight him seven times in BW1, not counting the postgame battle. Five times against Bianca too. And yet they were much more welcome than the XY rivals despite how often they seem to have appeared.
