Nothing. People abuse animals that are stronger than them all the time. Team Rocket and Team Plasma abuse the shit out of Pokemon that could murder humans, but the Pokemon don't retaliate because they're trained not to. Just like real animals.
Pokemon abuse isn't mentioned very often because it's a kid's game.

They were fucking idiots just like every other main series team, only the leaders were competent except for tAqua/Magma who were also lead by idiots. The only fully competent organization was in the Colloseum/XD games, followed closely by Team Plasma.

I had an idea for a little animated parody of the worst pokemon trainer ever, but while the initial setup and sudden onset of the abuse was hilarious, the aftermath wasn't... Detailing the effects of trauma isn't good parody material.

well you can abuse your pokemon. you can permit it to faint and feed it the wrong berries etc. the problem is that happiness doesn't translate into anything really important in the game. it would be interesting if pokemon that get beat up a lot just run away, a nice incentive to look after your pokemon so that the shit that professor oak says at the end of the game actually is true. inb4 "tradition"

It's just cool a couple of times and that's it (first when a fresh caught Buneary surprises you with a OHKO move in DPPt, second when Ghetsis pokémon had it to show they hated him).
