>>23591407That's an odd question.
According to what GF will tell you, YES. If they don't try to attract a new generation of kids to buy their games and stick with it until they die like us, the franchise will die out when we do.
But that logic is flawed. Pandering to kids by making the game easier and writing a story that's so obvious that five year olds can digest it not only fails to attract the younger audiences, but drives away the older ones. The only thing keeping GF from crashing and burring after shiity releases like XY, Gates to Infinity, and ORAS is the fact that it's fucking Pokémon. They're staying afloat on hype alone.
Look at Call of Duty. That series never pandered to kids, and it's fucking memetic how many kids play it. And not because it's easy, online FPSs require tons of fucking skill, it's because they saw their dads, uncles, and older brothers playing it and wanted in.
I wish I could send an email to Gamefreak's marketing department to tell them to wake the fuck up and remove their heads from their asses. But alas, the only way to contact GF is through their Japanese website, and I can't read slant-eyed. Not like those rice-eating fucks actually give a shit what happens outside of Japan, even through Americans and European adults generate the most revenue for them.
