So I just beat this game. Why did everyone hate it? They shouldn't have presented megaevolutions until the game was over, maybe in a new story, but that's about the only flaw it has.

Hating ORAS makes you the cool kid now apparently, as it happens with most new games, and I though myself it was a shitty game when I heard it had no battle frontier. But shit, Hoenn stands well without it. The lack of post-game is what fucks you up, but Secret Bases, Competitive Battling make up for it somewhat, though the game is more enjoyable before finishing the Delta Episode, then it just feels aimless.

I don't even care that much about the battle Frontier honestly.
Would have been nice, but whatever.
Never even bothered to finish it in Emerald
I'd have been happy with any kind of postgame , but after the Delta Episode the game felt so pointless, it wasn't enough.
Hoenn is (was? i don't know) my favourite region, so "wild" and "variegated"
I was so excited to come back and explore new areas, maybe a new island, new underwater routes, new hidden facilities, instead the region was so bland.
Nothing blew my mind, it was an ok game, but that's it.
Last time I played OR was December/January, feels bad.
Emerald hours spent playing : +200
Omega Ruby spent playing : barely 80

I'm still upset that they officially showed us every Mega before the game came out. Nobody saw that coming.

Why it sucks even more is that the mega evolutions are one of the few things that felt "new" about the game and it was spoiled.

It's one the best Pokèmon games so far in my view. My favorite games are the ones from HGSS onwards. The previous games now feel heavily outdated to me, even though I clocked countless hours in each of them when they were new. For the 'difficulty thingie' just blame this shitty tendency to casualization...

Was it? I never even entered the desert route, since they just whisk you to where you have to go next.
Which I both liked and disliked. I like not having to backtrack, bike the entire way back to get to the next gym. But with the option to just essentially teleport there, you remove some of the exploration.

Very very very poor remakes. They're easily the first Pokemon games I regret buying. I clocked around 300 hours on Y because barebones as it was, at least it was new. In Omega Ruby I have maybe 40 hours and haven't touched it in months I blame Monster Hunter

What a waste of potencial, there was so much that could be done, but they settled with the bare minimum
