ITT we suggest features for a Kanto SEQUEL, not Remake. It would take place ~3 years after HGSS, but in the current universe. Assume one version, not necessarily Yellow, and that it comes out next year just before Christmas. This would make it the second to last Gen 6 game. How would we make it worthwhile, there are not any 'mons left to finish the dex other than Hoopa and Volcanion.? Can we make it worth playing for any reason other than nostalgia?

That was Game Freak's original plan for Gold and Silver but they dropped it after delaying the games from their initial March 1998 release.

But to answer your question they could just do a game set at the same time BW take place and have people in Kanto discovering megaevolutions. Unless you walk in on mewtwo making its own mega stones in cerulean cave, and it won't let you catch it until it's gotten a chance to try them out so you have to fight mewtwo three times, once normal, and once again for each mega evolution.

Mewtwo couldn't decide how it wanted to mega evolve, so that's why it has two.

Hmm....There isn't much I can do about the gym leaders/E4 in that kind of time. Maybe give some kind of indication Blaine is getting old and someone new is going to take his place. Landscape-wise, it's obvious either Saffron or Celadon is going to get the Lumiose treatment, if they don't get merged into one supercity to compensate. If it has, then Erika's gym has turned into a greenhouse where you can grow berries. (she is still an optional boss postgame) If insisting on remaining separate, Celadon is the obvious place to put all the shops and junk. If the merge happens, you will need another gym elsewhere, and the only other place that doesn't have one is Lavender. Blue has left his gym and it has been changed to something else. He went to Sevii to make a Battle Facility, where he can pop up after a certain number of wins.

For villains, some douchebag has had aspirations of reviving Team Rocket, but no one formerly associated with them knows about it or wants anything to do with it. On their suggestion, you investigate the old Rocket hideouts to find all of their old papers have been taken and the computers destroyed for good measure. Their aspirations of unleashing Mega evolution on a wide scale may be repeated, and even be successful this time. You go to Silph Co, and no dubious activity seems to be going on anywhere there. The president has even disallowed any research on the matter because of what happened in the past. Whatever secrets there were, they were with Mr. Fuji, who has already passed away. Rumor has it that a secret awaits those who can reach the top of the Pokemon Tower, which is closed off by the radio company, to appease the spirits that remain there to this day.

With no leads, you confront Neo TR yourself, but even though they're just as pathetic as their predecessors, they also have their tendency to get away. An admin appears, mocking you for even believing you can stop their plans now. It is immediately apparent why...(cont)

I'd adjust the dex and take most of the GSC/HGSS additions as the basis, since it's a sequel to those anyway, and most of them weren't accessible in gen1 due to requiring new mechanics to encounter (night-time, headbutt)

So Houndour is next to Growlithe/Vulpix/Meowth and found in Kanto where it already was, etc.

Johto as post-game is a must, but not half-assed.

They unleash a Mega on you. The outcome doesn't matter, they've either made their point or they've proven you can't stand against them. Either way, now you must go and get Megas for yourself and find out out how the Rockets are doing it. By the time you, though, it is already too late. An army of Rockets and their leader are ready to storm Indigo Plateau and anyone else that stands in their way. Instead of an E4, you face a new gang of execs, all equipped with a Mega and four other pokes. In the end, you fight the new leader of TR, who not only has a Mega, but a legend as well.

That is not where it ends, though. The leader gets away with one of those ring things and boasts returning even stronger than ever.

since you have 276 mons, how about adding 24 new mons here and there to make up for the underrepresented types? i suggest mainly kalos mons since that region has a big connection with kanto. the honedge line, for instace, would help out a lot.

hm, i'm specifically thinking of the kalos fossils now. there is no snow warning mon in the kanto and johto family trees, plus there's a lack of dragon and rock types. we could say something like fuji has been away for sometime and he came back with a fossil (the sail fossil), he gives it to you. the jaw fossil you could get from a hiker from kalos or whatever, idk.
