I don't have a definitive favorite starter, but most of my favorites are Grass-types. My favorite starters of all gens are:

Gen I: Venusaur (Charizard and its TWO MEGAS can go fuck themselves)
Gen II: Typhlosion
Gen III: Sceptile
Gen IV: Infernape
Gen V: Serperior
Gen VI: Greninja

I think Quilladin is the worst middle stage of all the starters, especially the grass starters.
