Why are you expecting answers from /vp/, retard? We literally don't know anything about this shit. For all we know it could have to do with the Sundial's constant power discharge has affected Kalos native pokemon to enabling them to achieve this, but that'd be mere speculation.

They said the mysteries of this "pseudo-evolution" will be revealed in due time. If you want an actual answer you will have to wait for it.

For some reason they want to avoid giving Ash a Mega Ring. Part of me hoped it's just anime's way of showing Protean but this doesn't seem to be the case. Best case scenario this will end up being a one time promotion thing like the godawful Spiky Eared Pichu.

what's the point of making it as strong as a mega pokemon if it's not a mega?
either make it weaker or stronger (and stronger would make more sense, considering how rare this transformation is)

it's the same thing that happened with az's floette. it's just a plot point. it probably won't ever be something you can do in-game. it's just there to help explain the gimmick of the floette.

They can't realistically explain Ash-Greninja in-game without Ash himself appearing in the games (which would be the shitstorm of the century).

Another slight possibility is that Ash-Greninja is a hint to some new mechanic in Z like starters taking apperance of the player character or Pokemon customisation.

we don't know what causes the effect, it could very well be related to zygarde. which would explain why it would be featured in the zygarde movie. it would also kind of explain why az's floette would be a pokemon-z exclusive thing.

they certainly couldn't have a mechanic as shown with ash's greninja if they still have character customization, as they most likely will in pokemon-z.

for what it's worth, lysandre looks a lot like pyroar already. i certaintly don't think ash's greninja will be obtainable, although spiky eared pichu is similarly anomalous.
