Every Pokémon that you capture have to be your friend.

He is a evil for capture Lugia (Everybody does at games)
On my opinion,the anime should be as the Manga.
Blue,the girl only capture zapdos,moltres and articuno for lose the fear of the birds.

I'm guessing that anon is saying that the anime and games are different and therefore have different rules.

I'm thinking he was wrong because by taking the legendary birds he upset the balance of the world. Taking Lugia only exacerbated it.

Of course I do. They literally can't leave unless I let them. I own them for life, even if they're unhappy about it.
I don't even take most of mine out of the PC, so at least Lawrence's pokémon get to travel.

The balls are canonically power limiters, preventing a legendary Pokemon from expressing their full power (Cyrus states this in Platinum)

So technically, it's even worse as legendaries can't even do their jobs

Considering their battle stats are unaffected, I always took it as Pokeballs still give legendaries enough free will to refuse to use their reality bending powers for humans. Expecially since several legendaries want you to catch them. What were his exact words again?
