The whole reason you play a game in the first place is to have fun. But with competitive battling, you can't do that. Instead of treating every Pokémon with love, you constantly breed your Pokémon with Ditto and release tons and tons of rejects, damaging the ecosystem with overpopulation. And once you do get the right Pokémon, you have to go into battle fighting the same shit over and over again like BraveBurd and Washing Machine Darude Godzilla Electric Boogaloo. I just don't see how you can have fun with such tedium and hours of your life wasted. For me, I just want to have fun and bond with my Pokémon by looking at who they truly are... friends and companions, not war machines.
