So does the new one live up to expectations?

Mega Stones are lapis items which as August CoroCoro said, lapis appear randomly on dungeons and disappear when you left the dungeon, so Mega Evolutions happens randomly

Also when you Mega Evolve your Pokemon is controlled by an AI that attacks both teammates and enemies, so Mega Evolution is only recommended when you are alone in a dungeon. It can also destroy walls

I love the storyline and general concept of the PMD games.

But I swear, the actual battles are boring as fuck to me and the dungeons are so uninteresting.

I fucking hate my inability to enjoy these games.

I swear the battle system was more like the mainline Pokémon games with some twists that revolved around the Pokémon being proper "recruitable party members" rather than just collectible creatures, I'd fucking live in these games and replay them endlessly.

Started a new Explorers file out of hype, picked Chikorita as a partner, it hasn't been fun so far, fucking Gloom crit and OHKO'd her. Sending a mail just in case anyone answers, I'm only on like the 9th floor of something but don't feel like restarting.

Despite typing the codes being a bit annoying, I really like the password system. Because even after the DS Wi-Fi shutdown, communication between the Explorers games (and even between the Rescue Team games) is possible thanks to the password system. These games still have communication with each other, something the DS main series games sadly don't have anymore. I think that is quite fascinating.

And Pokemon Super Mystery Dungeon also has the password system, along with a QR code system now. This means PSMD can also communicate with other PSMDs forever.

Thanks, man. I really agree, it's super nice that we can all still interact with each other non-locally. I really miss shit like Join Avenue and even things like Pt's Wi-Fi Plaza. I know they made a ton of fan servers for DS and Wii games after shutdown (and the ones for Smash Bros. and MKWii work well at least), I wonder if anyone ever goes on the Pokémon ones.
