Now can we admit Yokai watch is a shitty failed Pokemon? The only reason it had SOME success was because it came out around ORAS, which set a really low bow

Yokai Watch came out in 2013 though. It got popular in early 2014 when the anime came out, so still much earlier than ORAS.
