XY was their first 3ds game, plus they had to do evrthing from the scratch

With ORAS they had to only recreate Hoenn in 3d

My only issue with Gen 6 maps are the "dark grass", why the heck you can't pass though it just because it is darker? I generally don't complain about little things, but this is a bit dumb.

If they filled up the map with thousand of trees in ORAS just like it was in RSE, could be that the game would lag? Even if so, they should make a decent road delimiter.

The most likely and correct answer is because a majority of the people were also working on Z.

They probably wanted to put most of their effort into it, instead of a remake.

Because they had to completely overhaul the graphics jumping to 3DS but then for oras they already established a lot of the code.

All the assets for XY had to be made from scratch. Hoenn had access to those assets so it would have been pretty easy to modify any once the method and bases were there.

The remakes always have slightly blockier graphics than the new games though, if you compare FRLG sprites to RSE, or HGSS to DPPt. I guess it's meant to highlight that they're retro or something.

Basically they had something to Base their work on, as opposed to xy where they had to make literally everything from scratch

They're the same in blockiness, FRLG just has better sprites.
HGSS also had much better art direction than DPPt. Holy shit Sinnoh's neon grass is awful.

I wish someone would make a mod through homebrew where you could add an "enhanced textures" and shaders mods to your 3ds games.

Kind of like that one that lets you change the background for your online battles.

Sharpen the image slightly and maybe saturate the colors a little more...other than that, the asymmetry of the set pieces as opposed to just "squares" makes it look gorgeous.
