Until yesterday, XY were the only games I hadn't played. I bought X and played through it, what disappointment.

I already knew the dex was mediocre in terms of new mons due to having completed the ORAS dex, but at least I expected to be able to form a team of 6 with the brand new Pokemon. I did, but just barely, all the old ones are fucking shoved down your throat (Lucario especially, at one point in the game).

The region is bland as fuck and it seems like a tool to promote the new, shiny 3D graphics rather than making a fun and entertaining region to explore in. Literally Kanto 2.0, but less original.

And the characters aren't memorable at all. Your friends are annoying as shit, the champion isn't challenging at all and the enemy team is pathetic. The only characters I could bother to remember where Lysandre and AZ.
