>>24603953>>24603973From what I can gather, the idea is your body suddenly changes and you have all these feelings accompany it - And most of the art has people look like they're really scared until the transformation is complete, then they're either really happy or checking themselves out/showing off. It helps that most creatures including anthros don't necessarily need to wear clothes. It may have to do with a sense of primal reversion, throwing off reason and acting on instinct. Alternatively, it's the feeling of being stuck in those changes, forced to become something you aren't. In some cases, there may be otherkin or transgender undertones that motivate the artist, though this is not always the case. There may also be undertones of dealing with puberty, or in very rare cases, rape.
Or, it could just be that shapeshifting is cool, and just happens to feel nice too. Just look at those blushes on some of them.
Either way, I can't exactly say I /wouldn't/ be secretly into the reversible ones. Shapeshifting a best.
