Only Morty's Gengar knows Shadowball, and it's a physical attack in generation 2. Geodude/Gravler/Golem's high defense tank that all day, especially considering Gengar's piss poor attack stat. The only status to avoid is Hypnosis, which isn't that hard considering it's accuracy and Awakenings are a thing.

Catching a Geodude in Crystal gives you the first four gyms on a silver platter.

Word yo. You're right though, I wouldn't take Geodude or evolutions against Morty in HG/SS like I would in G/S/C, that's asking for a death for all the reasons you pointed out earlier.

I'm just one of those faggots who's first Pokemon game was Gold back in elementary school, so it's partial to me.

I've just beaten Gardenia and the Galactic folks in Eterna city, but this lady at the cycling road tells me the road is closed. I don't remember being blocked like this before. What do I do? Is game broken?

i hate them but i won't bend the rules to accommodate. so i'm against it. and i've lost good mons to this kind of crap. recently lost a huge power adamant azurill i'd been saving for my water type to a raticate pursuit when tanking it after dragging it hell and gone over johto to get it's happiness up. but i boxed him regardless. dead is dead.

that said, if you want to do this it's fine. your locke your rules.

crit is part of the game, you need to learn to deal with them
there's moves and abilities for that
and you also benefit from crits sometimes killing something that you might`ve not and that might've killed you in return in the same turn

Well, back after an extended and sudden absence. Get get past Norman, if I recall, but I decided to try again when my run hit a wall - and my has my luck been terrible.

Doing one in OR, getting ready to face Brawly, with my team that has 3 pure Normal types and a Dark type. I literally have two Pokemon that are trained that I can use in it. Thankfully they are a Taillow and Combusken.

Well, things happened.

One, did get past her. Two, ancient handheld decided to crap out somewhere round Dewford after catches were made and my silly self decided that a restart was needed. I'll do that later - have to be in the right mindset.

Hopefully it'll hold out. And I suppose it's only fitting that I start my hopefully definitive run on Armistice Day.

Was frightened for Whitney in my vanilla SoulSilver run, but Nidorina made short work of her. also she never used rollout, did they remove it or something? The Miltank just spammed milk drink and stomp. Was really dreading that fight but whatever, only 3 casualties.

e4 pretty much just free xp
but cynthia is a hard one to beat
only weavile survived for very little

got a game over in the first two tries, but still early enough at the game so reestarting wasnt such a chore

so far the hardest main game to nuzlocke for me
too bad i dont think i have anyone to help me get hard mode for b2

lost porygon2 to floatzel's bulky atk, but mr. data managed to take out gyarados; floatzel surprisingly got crit'd by meditite's drain punch without taking any damage quickly avenging my loss. torterra smote quagsire with limited effort.
