I would say a mega with Thick Fat can make Meganium actually tanky, but it'd just be a Venusaur clone by that point, so until it's time for Johto starter megas, Meganium can't be saved.

Ah, I see, didn't see that. Guess I haven't been exposed to Flower Veil enough to know that right off the bat.

I guess Meganium doesn't have to bust its ass off switching into Will-O-Wisp or other statuses like Venusaur does, though it equally likes Thick Fat.

Also assuming that stat spread, Meganium doesn't have THAT much trouble with Ferrothorn and Scizor if it's running mixed with Hidden Power Fire (standard for Grass-types). Skarm is the only thing it has trouble with, but then again so does Mawile.

Please, not Dragon. That would make it too similar to Mega Sceptile, give it a 4x weakness to Ice and really, Dragon is such a shitty STAB, hitting only other Dragon-types super-effectively.

Def: 100 -> 80 (-20)
Spa: 83 -> 133 (+50)
Spd: 100 -> 80 (-20)
Spe: 80 -> 120 (+40)
Nature power subs in for hyper voice which it unfortunately doesn't learn, otherwise coverage options are wide physically and it has swords dance as well.

You can't really make it a better defensive grass type than mega venusaur so why even bother.
