Charm literally doesn't mean a thing.
It doesn't describe anything about the gameplay, the art direction, music. None at all.
The only thing it does in that context is tell you that person isn't paying attention to the game they're playing of you're even playing it.
As for the battle system it's not really "fluid" to say the least. The way they did balancing your items and coaching your team is really clunky. If they had taken a Ni no Kuni approach it would have been much better.
