Has there ever been a core Pokémon game announced in November or December? Seems like a bad time from a marketing perspective, as Nintendo is trying to sell you Mario Maker, Tri Force Heroes and Mario Tennis for Christmas, they're not going to want a distraction upstaging them.

X/Y was announced right after the Christmas and New Year holidays, in January 2013.

From the very beginning we knew he will be there one day after CoroCoro so a reveal was out of the question because surely CoroCoro would have anything Mausda would talk about.

Still though he's visit being about music DOESNT CHANGE the possible annoucement during next week.

Just because one year has a break (like in EVERY GENERATION) it doesnt mean a game wont come out, dont be silly.

Giratina-O was revealed 3 months before Pokemon Platinum was so if Zygarde game will be announced in January it'll be 4 months after Zygarde formes were revealed. Nothing unusual plus Zygarde movie is summer 2016 so there's PLENTY of time to announce and release Zygarde game

But it was long for the Japanese audience and since now we're basically have their schedule we must expect the same treatment as them in the past.

Oh well if its next week cool if not then its early next year. Its not the end of the world AND what most important: we still might get some new info about Zygarde or some other forms/megas that will be in the game.It still might be very exciting time even without the annoucement

Yea this. 2020 sounds a bit extreme, but it's really sad how (some) people of this fanbase get so entitled when there isn't a main game in a year. There are enough franchises that occasionally take a year break like for example Zelda, so all those "we don't deserve to wait so long as a Pokemon fan" seems really stupid imo.

Why do we want a main game every year anyway? Is there really nothing else then Pokemon in your live? It's like people want Pokemon to become the next annual franchise like Call of Duty or Assassin's Creed.

Annual releases really takes away development time and/or the "special feeling" of that particular franchise. Spoon feed something to someone too much, and they get sick of it some day. Getting too much of something "similar" makes that thing not special anymore. It's probably one of the main causes of COD's and AC's decline of sales.

Besides that, shouldn't we want good games that lasts very long? Don't get me wrong, I liked XY and ORAS but they lack in the content department. Sometimes, I feel like the Gen 6 games where only made for online, while Gen 4 and Gen 5 had content + online. So more development time COULD mean a game with more content and a overall better experience. I rather have good games with content every 2/3/more years then a game that may or may not be good every year.

I know that there are people that ask for a main game now not because they want Pokemon to be annual, but because it's been quite long now (talking about the people who began to wonder why there isn't an announcement yet around August-September).. I feel that way too, but it's no big deal for me. An announcement is probably coming sometime in the future so it's better to just relax and wait patently for it.

If Z was going to be released in "a few months" it would already be announced. They aren't going to announce a brand new Pokemon game and release it 2 months later. It's not happening early 2016, and unless we get an announcement soon it's not happening mid 2016 either.
