Emulators are only good to play the main story. There's no point in do the archaic EV training of Gen 3 when Gen 6 Super Training and Hordes exists.
Collect ribbons and transfer pokémon up is pretty pointless too if you're not in the cart. Just my opinion.

I know that exact feel. I'm in over 1,000 encounters on OR and AS together and I've found no shiny Snorunt yet, but have encountered and caught 7 shiny Spheals and 15 shiny Zubats. On a side note, I'm also MM'ing for a Carbink. 600+ eggs and nothing yet.

Latias, Metagross and Milotic I found in Emerald.
Linoone and Shiftry are from Ruby.
Roselia I found in Sapphire.
The only soft reset was for Steven's Beldum since I wanted an Adamant one and ended up with a shiny.

The only advice I can give you is have something on to watch while breeding and hatching because holy shit Eevee eggs take forever and a day to hatch.
