In Platinum there was a man who rewarded you with Net Balls for bringing him bigger Remoraids. If there are different sizes, then I'm sure that can be applied to other Pokémon.

If I recall, the trainer actually tied Tepig to a pole to keep Tepig from following him, but didn't intentionally tie up his mouth. Tepig just got tangled in the rope later on.

Still an asshole, but not intentionally murderous. Just accidentally.
