kinda sucks how I'll never have an idea how big my favorite is supposed to be.
I have a pick from PMD, anime, 4'11" being height, or counting it as length, etc.
Then I just have to assume they're like Gourgeist or Magikarp/Remoraid with some being pretty small and some being huge (remember the fish raters in Kanto/Sinnoh?)

Well, yeah, pokemon gets a lot of things wrong.
For example, Malamar is Water/Psychic. Dark type doesn't make any real sense on it especially when it's canon that its body LITERALLY emits light, so it has to be wrong somewhere. A lot of things about pokemon simply don't make sense. Why they're so short is just one of those things.

Given how the descriptions seem to be subjective, they shouldn't be taken first hand. However, measurements are much less subjective when a standardization of measurement is used. In other words, you need to learn how to separate subjective information from objective information.
