Mudkip is great.

Sceptile gets fuck all for moves until Leaf Blade and Torchic isn't particularly impressive either. Mudkip gets consistently good moves, an amazing typing, already gives you an option for a Surfer straight-up and Swampert's the best one aesthetically

Sceptile of course, best starter full stop. Clever theme (LEAF tail gecko fucking five stars), 10/10 aesthetics, great to use in-game and against friends.
